3. HIPPA laws and regulations- HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) is a federal law that may give you the right to purchase Nevada Health Insurance. It prohibits Insurance Companies from refusing to cover a "health issue" you already have (pre-existing condition). To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements: Had at least 18 months of prior coverage ending with coverage that was employer sponsored; used up any COBRA or State continuation coverage; had no gaps in coverage in the past 63 days.
